Thinking of joining us?
The Baildon Orchestra is perfect for those who want to improve their sight-reading in an orchestral setting. We operate a standard concert orchestra format, consisting of strings, double woodwind, brass and percussion. As a community orchestra, we have a naturally diverse membership. Some have played all their lives and others have dusted off their instruments after many years' break. There are members who have switched to a different instrument and those who have taken up playing in later life. In short - all musical backgrounds are represented! |
There are no auditions but in order
to cope with the demands of the repertoire and derive maximum enjoyment from the rehearsals, we suggest potential members are comfortable sight-reading and playing in most keys. If in any doubt, please do contact us to discuss and we will do our best to accommodate you. String players are always welcome and we are actively recruiting for our brass section. Woodwind players should contact the orchestra first to see if there are any positions free. |
Please contact Paul, our membership secretary or
complete the form on the contact page if you wish to find out more.
